VelaSmooth™ Cellulite Treatment is now referred to as VelaShape™. VelaSmooth is FDA approved for cellulite reduction and reduction in thigh circumference. Since cellulite results from distended fat cells trapped in a network of collagen located deep within the skin, VelaShape™ works to alleviate this problem. This system uses bipolar radio frequency and infrared light to break up the fat cells that become congested and form cellulite. The system also requires vacuum suction and massage to mobilize the denatured fat cells and fluids out of the body through the natural drainage of the lymphatic system.
Treatment sessions feel like very warm deep tissue massage. At least 4 weekly sessions are required for effective results. More weekly sessions may be needed depending on the level of cellulite to be treated. Maintenance sessions are then required to keep skin looking smooth, firm and dimple free.
